Everybody knows that making a relationship work is more than just going out on a few dates together. You have to have a balance of respect, trust, and honesty.
The decisions you make about your relationships matter a lot - both in the short-term and in the long-term. So, the National Campaign has collected some facts, tips, and feedback from teens about what makes a healthy relationship and how to avoid an unhealthy one. Don't forget to add your feedback too - we want to know what your relationship reality is!

What You Said
"I'm sure sex is great and everything, but there's something about casual sex that makes me uneasy. I love myself and my body too much to just give it away to someone who wants to use it."
~ Girl, 16.
"If a boy wears protection, talks honestly about sex to his partner, keeps his mouth shut around his buddies about "last night," treats a girl with respect before and after sex and isn't in the relationship just for sex--then he's a man."
~ Guy, 17.
"I got pregnant a month before my 17th birthday. My son's father and I got married five months ago and we're already separated. In his whole life, his father has only taken care of him by himself one time. He does not pay me child support..."
~ Girl, 17.
"On the same day my boyfriend broke up with me, I found out I was pregnant.... My son is going without a lot of things he'd have if he had two parents. You need a family. You need to be stable."
~ Girl, 16.
